Kamran is a Master of Arts holder in Development Economics with over 20 years’ practical experience in the microfinance field. He has vast geographical experience having worked in various countries in NIC & Central Asia, Middle East & South Asia and Africa.
He has over fifteen years’ experience in working with small and micro businesses in developing countries, both in enterprises development and microfinance capacities. He possess over 5 years of direct experience in microfinance and SME lending operations, including management responsibility of a $60 million loan portfolio for FINCA in Azerbaijan. He has proven experience in marketing, feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis, business planning / strategy development, budget planning and internal controls.
He is an accomplished researcher in the areas of agriculture & economic development, microfinance and SME lending. He has authored, co-authored and presented six publications/presentations the latest being a presentation at the Development Studies Association (DSA) on ‘The Private Sector Poverty Reduction and International Development’.
