Microfinance institutions (MFIs) are increasingly facing pressure to go digital. The benefits are numerous, as DFS has the power to lower operational costs and increase outreach and efficiency. However, digital finance is extremely complex and the operational challenges can quickly overwhelm institutions. This course takes MFIs through the process of selecting the right strategic option for introducing DFS to their operations and highlights the key issues in the implementation process.
Developed and facilitated by The Helix Institute of Digital Finance, this course allows participants to understand the benefits of going digital as well as the four strategic options available for MFIs. It walks participants through the implementation steps of each of the options, and identifies the inherent risks and ways of mitigating them.
